Introductions are in Order
My approach to cooking has changed quite a bit over the years. As a child – I learned to cook enormous quantities of traditional “comfort foods” for our large / extended family. My grandmothers and mother made certain that no one ever went hungry if they showed up at our table.
As the parent of a child with sensitivities to certain foods – I learned to read every label and question every ingredient. Danger was everywhere – I was certain of it!
As a business traveler I had the opportunity to enjoy (and learn to cook) dishes from many parts of the world. How exciting it is to bring exotic new recipes home to experiment with.
Now that the daughters have homes and families of their own – my focus is on healthy, delicious recipes that can be scaled for one or two people. Much as I try – we don’t do well with leftovers at our house. With our busy schedules – by the time we get back to the leftovers – it’s too late.
Through it all, I’ve developed many of my own recipes and shared some of them with subscribers to my email newsletter and on my website. This blog is an extension of the fun I am having searching out, trying and sharing great recipes, tools, cookbooks and menu ideas. I hope you enjoy the ideas you find here and even become inspired to share some of your own with me.
